FEMALE-HAIR-LOSS-treatment

Introduction

Human skin contains hair follicles (a tube-shaped sacs within the skin which produces hair) all over the body except palms, soles, lips. Permanent hair reduction with the help of a laser is USFDA approved technology. LHR uses a beam of light, which will be converted into heat and absorbed by the melanin, a pigment present in hair follicles, destroying it. The damage prevents or retards the development of subsequent hair. ANY part of the body, including the face (chin, upper lip, sideburns), chest, neck, shoulders, arms, legs, back, underarms, and bikini line.

At an urban skin and hair clinic, our experts are using Diode and alexandrite laser hair removal machines. Both of them are FDA approved. Alexandrite has triple wavelength, which makes it more suitable for treating even finer and lighter hairs.

How Does Laser Treatment Work For Hair Removal?

Basic principle for LHR is selective photothermolysis. The laser hair removal process uses high-intensity laser beams that transform into heat energy and damage the hair follicles in active growth mode that are located beneath the skin. This damage permanently prevents those hair follicles from producing new hairs, as well as reduce density of hair. You may need a couple of sessions as recommended by our dermatologist to achieve optimal results.

Is laser hair removal a permanent solution?

A typical myth about laser hair removal treatment is that it brings about lasting hair removal that implies that hair never comes back for the lifetime. In any case, the truth of the matter is that the laser treatment is performed to assist decrease hair development and with every session, the procedure reduces the future hair development. However, you require little support sessions to get rid of them completely.

Cost Factors

Area of treatment- The area which the patient wants to be treated is the most important factor in determining the cost. Larger areas of the body are charged higher than small patches as it takes more time. For example, on an average, treating a thigh region takes 30-40 minutes.

Skin and Hair Types – The density, thickness, and length of the hair and the skin types and shades play an important role in determining the method and overall cost of treatment.

Standard of clinic – The total cost of the treatment also depends on the standard and quality of the clinic to get the treatment. There are various clinics and hospitals that provide laser treatment in Delhi region and cost of the treatment varies from clinic to clinic.

Number of sessions – The cost of the entire treatment is divided into a number of sessions which is priced differently. It is important for patients to take note of the number of sessions which they would need to complete the treatment. On an average, 5-6 sessions are conducted, but in few cases, this may go up to 8 as well, which again increases the cost.

Why do you need to shave before going for a laser?

  • A clean shave with a sharp razor is a must.
  • The part of hair above the skin is razed off and that below the skin level is targeted by the laser.
  • Thus removing the hair above the skin prevents any chances of superficial burns of the skin.

When will you see new growth after your first laser session?

After going for the first laser hair removal session, your hair will look like it is growing back, but it is not. The targeted hair is simply making its way out of the hair follicles. After about 10 days, the hair will start shedding.

Can you get Cancer from laser hair removal?

The laser energy used here is a non- ionizing radiation which is harmless to your body.

Does laser work on gray/white hair?

Lasers are not effective on all hair types. The laser works best when there is a contrast between the hair color and skin color. Laser hair removal doesn’t work on gray hair.

Why does laser not work on gray/ white hair?

Full body laser hair removal does not work on the gray/white hair simply because it is a procedure that is based on the light energy which seeks melanin, so more melanin means more light energy is required to destroy hair. Grey and other types of hair such as blonde, red, light brown, white hair do not have enough melanin to absorb laser light so destruction of hair becomes impossible.
